Old Oxford Universal Stove
We found this old Oxford Universal gas range in a salvage yard in Omaha. It was made by the Cribben and Sexton Co. in Chicago in about 1930. When we bought it we were told it was being used in an old home that had been recently demolished. It took quite a bit of sleuthing, but eventually we were able to find perhaps the only person in Omaha who knew how to work on these old stoves and he came out and restored the fittings, converting it to propane for us. It works great!

Old Oxford Universal Stove
These burners have a very unique lighting mechanism...there is a pilot in the center that shoots out these flames to each burner, which then ignite if you turn the appropriate gas knob. It's a wonderful stove to cook on.
